Hi! Thanks for visiting my site. I'll be brief as I'm sure you want to get straight to the artwork.

You have probably guessed by now that my name is Matt Johnson! I am a freelance illustrator based in Birmingham. I have a real passion for hand drawn art. By this I mean I love to create my art using paint, pencils, pens and pretty much any medium I can get my hands on. I feel that this gives an extra quality to my illustrations. I consider myself to be a very versatile, extremely capable illustrator and caricaturist.

As well as being an accomplished painter, I have developed a real passion for drawing. My skills lie within character design and portraiture. Combining these abilities has lead to my unmistakably vibrant, fun and colourful style of illustration.

Since graduating with a degree in Illustration I have worked with many prominent clients on commissions ranging from character design to logo design, and caricatures to portraits.

In 2007 I achieved runner-up in The Times Young Cartoonist of the Year (under 30 category), a position I intend to improve on, although at 26, times ticking away!
